The LOFUS Biophilic Boutique Hotel is located in the heart of Athens, on a beautiful pedestrian street in Monastiraki and stands out for its architecture and philosophy. Its name is indicated by its position between the hill of the Acropolis and Lycabettus. LOFUS is the result of the combination of the Greek word λόφος, with the English pronoun US, meaning unity.
Design
Inside the five-floors building, the spacious suites with earthy and green soft surfaces reflect the rich heritage of Dionysian Ancient Greece, connecting guests with nature.
Taking biophilic principles into account, the overall design conveys a
ecological manifesto in favor of a sustainable planet for all.
At the same time, through a series of design elements such as the lamps with pagan references, a grotesque/dystopian narrative is given in order to provoke the visitors to wonder how things could end up if the ecological battle is lost. In this way, the uniqueness that characterizes the design aims to bring the guest to an awakened state of increased clarity as he experiences, discovers and enjoys the city of Athens during his stay.
