The point of reference is the historic Bourtzi castle, built on the rocky islet of Agios Theodoros. Visitors have the opportunity to visit it by boats that depart daily in front of the port.
Epidaurus is most famous today for the best-preserved ancient Greek theater. In ancient times the patients of Asclepius gathered there to attend theatrical performances as a healing process, while in modern times ancient dramatic performances are staged there every summer. However, Epidaurus offers many more, wonderful beaches surrounded by green pine trees and paths through the ancient ruins, appropriate for hiking.
